Alinta Apparel

Adero Law is currently undertaking due diligence investigations into Alinta Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 125 486 900) (Alinta Apparel) for purported misclassification and underpayment of entitlements to staff.

Alinta Apparel is a school uniform manufacturer, which operates school uniform stores on school campuses and external retail stores across Australia.

Former and Current Employees have reported to Adero Law that the following practices may have occurred at Alinta Apparel stores:

  • engaging employees under the Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award 2020, rather than the General Retail Industry Award 2020;
  • Failing to make proper payments under the Award regarding minimum shift or ‘short shift’ entitlements;
  • Failing to make proper payments under the Award of employee entitlements such as:
    • Travel allowances;
    • Uniform allowances; and
    • Laundry allowances.
  • Requiring staff to complete work during meal breaks without providing additional compensation; and
  • other purported breaches of the Award that Adero Law is investigating.

If these practices have occurred across Alinta Apparel stores, Adero Law may pursue an action against Alinta Apparel, seeking compensation for employees whose entitlements were not paid in full.
